General Information on Service
Sometimes getting repairs completed is more complicated than it should be.
This information should help assist in quick turnaround times for repairs and
replacements.
Warranty Definitions:
Return-To-Base (RTB). The client must return the product at own expense to
either reseller or nearest authorised repair centre / service agent. On-site
service may still be available; however a call-out fee applies. In some cases
the call-out fee is well worth to avoid downtime and the inconvenience of
delivery. Timing and scheduling is subject to existing bookings, replacement
parts as well as access and availability of the faulty equipment.
On-site. A technician will come to your site. Timing
and scheduling is subject to existing bookings, replacement parts as well as
access and availability of the faulty equipment and individual contracts and
agreements.
Warranty Exclusions:
Electrical damage. Damage due to electrical surge, including lightning strike.
User-induced damage. Some examples are ( all based on
actual events ):
- Dropped monitors
- Fax machines that have had the paper pulled out the wrong
way.
- Broken mice due to being plugged in upside-down.
Fire, flood and theft. Check your contents insurance to
see if you are covered.
How to lodge a service call:
Have the following details handy:
- Proof of purchase such as original invoice/receipt.
- Serial Number of the equipment.
- Model name and number of the equipment.
- Full contact details, including name, telephone, fax, e-mail and delivery
address
- Description of the problem.
Request the following information from the person you lodge
the service call with:
- If warranty is RTB, the best method of delivery to the repair centre and
return
- If part is being sent out to you, method and expected time of delivery.
- If warranty is on-site expected time of technician on-site.
- An estimate of how long the repair/replacement will take.
- RA (Repair Authority) Number or Job Number.
- Name and contact details of person you deal with.
Acer ( Workstations and Laptops ):
All Acer laptops, desktops and workstation computers sold by Landau from 1
Sep 2004 have been supplied with an on-site warranty unless otherwise stated in
the quote/proposal.

Messenger is also used by Medical Spectrum and Medilink. You will need your User
ID and Password to login to the Customer Support Pages on the IBA web site.
IBM ( Workstations, Servers and Laptops ):
All IBM equipment sold by Landau have individual warranties,
depending on the client's requirement at purchase. Ensure that you have your
details handy, including your IBM warranty service pack.
Kyocera ( Laser printers, cameras and photocopiers ):
Almost all Kyocera laser printers and photocopiers printers sold by Landau
Technologies have been supplied with a three-year on-site warranty. A handful of
printers sold outside the 50 km radius from the nearest authorised Kyocera
Service Centre have RTB warranties. All Kyocera digital cameras are sold with a
one-year RTB warranty. A list of authorised service agents can be found through Kyocera's
Service Web Site; these agents are qualified to undertake both warranty and
non-warranty Kyocera repairs.

electronically pick up your bulk-bill MedClaims batches and send them onto the

Netgear (Networking appliances - hubs, switches and routers):
All Netgear network switches sold by Landau Technologies come with a minimum
manufacturer's five-year warranty on the actual switch. If the switch has an
external power transformer, the transformer/power pack will be covered for
one-year only. In the main, most warranties are enacted via Landau Technologies
as our wholesalers have an "Advance RA" policy. This means that they
keep additional stock to lower the impact of failed network equipment. However

All Octek servers, desktops and workstation computers sold by Landau from 1
Jan 2002 have been supplied with an on-site warranty unless otherwise stated.
Look for the OPS sticker on either the rear or top of the tower, see below
All Octek brand laptops come with a one-year warranty on mouse (if supplied)
battery, screen and keyboard and three-year warranty on all other parts.
Always advise that your site was installed by Landau Technologies, as this
then raises a flag in the service software and Octek then advise us of the
situation.

Un-Interruptible Power Supplies:
All "PowerPal" brand UPS's are sold with a two-year replacement
warranty; please call Landau first to activate your warranty.
SOLA Brand UPS are sold with several different warranties, dependant upon
model; check your quotes for confirmation. However as Landau has not sold SOLA
brand UPS's for three years, most warranties will have expired. Most SOLA UPS's
can be repaired; however the cost of repair must be weighed up with the cost of
replacement. The authorised repair centre is Sure Power. You need to phone and arrange job
number and pay courier costs.
