Refer to our Service Directory for full contact details for repair centres. All Canon Inkjet printers sold by Landau Technologies come with a manufacturer's (Canon) one-year Return-To-Base warranty. Should your printer require servicing above and beyond user maintenance, your options are:
User Maintenance Almost all printer problems can be dealt with and resolved by the user. Canon provides quite comprehensive manuals that are easy to follow. Here are a couple of common issues that we have found. Blocked Print Head This is far and away the most common issue, and usually easy resolved by running a "Deep Head Maintenance".
Wait until process is completed before starting any more print jobs. Allow at least ten minutes. Please note that if the printer has been sitting idle for some time, say a week, you should do this before you start printing. Empty Ink Tank or Ink Cartridge The software driver does not always report if the ink is bout to run out. Therefore if the printer does not print a certain colour, or a particular colour or set of colours always comes out wrong, check your ink tanks or cartridges.
Faulty Print Cartridge Printers that use ink cartridges (tank and print head combined) are prone to problems with the ink cartridge, always keep as spare on hand to test and replace if necessary. Often the print will give a specific series of flashes and beeps that indicate a faulty print head; refer to your manual for further information. Loose Cables All inkjet printers should have only two cables connected. One is for power, the other for data. The data cable will either be a standard parallel printer cable or a Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable.
Paper Jam Removal of jammed paper is different on every different model. However the one constant is to be gentle. |
