Single In-line
Memory Module. A narrow printed circuit board that holds
the memory chips in and plugs into the computer's mainboard to form the

Either a floppy disk or a hard
disk drive that contains the operating system ( O/S ) and allows the
system to start or "boot". |

Video Graphic Adapter. A system that provides high
screen ( 800 dots per inch wide x 600 dots per inch high ) and can
handle more colours. |
| Switch |
As in Network Switch. A
hardware device that controls the flow of data traffic between
computers. All switches sold by Landau technologies since 2001 are the
Netgear brand and have a minimum five-year manufacturer's warranty on
the actual switch and one-year manufacturer's warranty on the external
power supply. The model numbers are usually FS105, FS108, FS116, FS524
and generally they are blue in colour and look like:
