Employment/Contracting Opportunities

From time to time we will take on additional staff or contractors. Over the years we have developed a list of qualifications, skills and personal attributes that we; and or clients, require. Only candidates who are prepared to demonstrate that they have these pre-requisites should apply.

Contractors, Sub-contractors And Other Third Parties

All contractors, sub-contractors and other third parties invoice the clients direct, we do not accept the invoice and then pass on a marked-up account to to the client. Landau Technologies does however charge fee-for-service for project management and administration when appropriate.

Formal Qualifications:

Technical Staff/Contractors:

Minimum of Certificate III in Information Technology (Must have).
Industry certifications from A+ through to MCSA. (Recommended)
Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training. (Recommended)

Training Staff:

Industry certifications from A+ through to MCSA. (Recommended)
Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training. (Essential)

Electrical & Data Contractors:

Current electrical tickets for domestic and commercial electrical works.( Must have)
Current Austel licence for CAT5e and CAT6 data cabling. (Must have)
A.B.N. (Must have)

Experience:

Technical Staff/Contractors:

At least twelve months in a hardware repair/support role. (Recommended)

Training Staff:

Delivery in IT training including Microsoft Office (Must have)

Personal Attributes (All):

Good verbal communication skills. Both speaking and listening are important.
Ability to problem solve and think laterally.
High standard of literacy and numeracy.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Able to work minimum 40 hours a week.
Able to work under (occasional) stressful situations.
Excellent personal hygiene. Bad body and breath may offend colleagues and clients.
Able to work to a time limit. 
Be prepared to continue study, sometimes at own cost.

Other:

Technical Staff/Contractors:

Must have reliable car with full comprehensive insurance. We pay car allowance, we do not provide a company car.
Must have good driving record. You may easily cover 500 kms in a working week.

Must have own tools, always kept in good condition. We pay a tool allowance, we do not provide tools. As we service medical diagnostic equipment, we require more than just a standard IT toolkit. Your toolkit should include:

  • Electrical Phillips #1, Phillips #2,Slotted #1 screwdrivers

  • Standard Phillips #1, Phillips #2, Slotted #1 screwdrivers

  • Stubby #2 screwdriver.

  • Loctite

  • Zinc Oxide Grease

  • Side cutters, Long nose pliers and Standard pliers

  • Dymo Labelwriter labeller

  • Zip strips

  • 12 Volt cordless drill and drill bits

  • Metric and Imperial Allen keys

  • Small/hobby hacksaw.

  • Small adjustable spanner.

Non-smoker - unfortunately allergies of our staff and clients make this completely non-negotiable.
